ALUMIL recognized with Cradle to Cradle certification, the first Greek company of architectural aluminium systems

ALUMIL is the first Greek company to receive the international Cradle to Cradle (C2C) certification for the sustainability of its products. ALUMIL's Cradle to Cradle accreditation offers new opportunities for involvement in projects that adhere to sustainable building and Bioclimatic Architecture principles, resulting in green structures with great energy efficiency.

Apart from the C2C accreditation, ALUMIL’s achievements include significant investments in the production of green recycled aluminium, the EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations) for integrated architectural systems, and the honorary distinction "Most Sustainable Company in Greece 2022" as a company representing the sustainable development model.
ALUMIL's efforts and measures to solidify a company strategy connected with the concepts of sustainability and circular economy have culminated in this accreditation. The worldwide standard for goods that are safe, circular, and responsibly created is Cradle to Cradle Certified®.

ALUMIL earned a Silver-level certification after a lengthy and difficult review procedure based on the following five criteria:
- Material Health: Identifying the chemical composition of the product's materials and verifying that they are safe for humans and the environment.
- Product Circularity: Using regenerative goods and process design to enable a circular economy.
- Clean Air and Climate Protection: Keeping the air clean, encouraging renewable energy, and lowering harmful emissions are all priorities.
- Water and Soil Stewardship: Protecting clean water and fertile soils.
- Social Justice: Upholding human rights, contributing to a more just and equitable society, and employing fair labour practises.
The C2C accreditation was given to a total of 34 systems, including curtain walls, hinged and sliding doors and windows, as well as a folding door system. The Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard is used by leading brands, retailers, designers, and manufacturers across the value chain to ensure that their goods have a beneficial impact on people and the environment.
Above all, with this key accreditation, ALUMIL takes another step toward its goal of "Construction Excellence," which is intimately related to the company's long-term success and its vision for a future in which people and the environment are prioritised.
