Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) announced that Alu-met GmbH has become a new Production & Transformation member of the ASI. This brings the total number of members working toward a responsible aluminium value chain to 119.
Alu-met manufactures and supplies high-quality aluminium billets. The company operates two production sites: Aluminium GmbH Nachrodt (Germany) and Speedline Aluminium Gießerei GmbH (Austria). The company produces more than 150,000 tons of extrusion billets annually for the central European market.
“Alu-met belongs to the European aluminium industry. Therefore we have the responsibility to pave the way for ecological sustainability. The management of Alu-met is committed to ensuring the health and respectful treatment of their employees and securing long-term employment. In order to achieve these goals, the management is committed to the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative,” said Dr. Frank Müller – General Manager.
ASI is a global, multi-stakeholder, non-profit standards setting and certification organisation that aims to recognise and foster the responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium.
