Alimex GmbH Precision, an inventor and producer of aluminium cast plates, has acquired Performance Standard V3 (2022) Certification from the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative. The company has bagged the certification for producing high-precision components, surface machining of rolled plates and distribution, and machining semi-finished products at its facility in Willich facility, Germany.

Alimex's products serve industries like electronics, laser, packaging, medical technology, mechanical engineering, automotive, semiconductor, and solar.
The ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) was launched in May 2022 after several rounds of revision through multiple years. It defines 11 principles and 62 criteria under three sustainability pillars – Environment, Social, and Governance, aiming to address pressing sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain.
Alimex has received the certification after undergoing a stringent, independent, third-party audit by TÜV NORD CERT GmbH.
Commenting on the achievement, Dr Philip Grothe, CEO of alimex GmbH Precision in Aluminium, said: "The aluminum industry, and we as participants, make every effort to minimize environmental impacts along the entire value chain. These include, for example: reducing waste, emissions and water consumption as well as preventing environmental pollution. In order to address ecological and social challenges and ensure long-term economic success, alimex's goal is to promote quality and sustainability in its business processes and products. For us, sustainability is not a temporary project, but a process with always new challenges that we are happy to take on. Protecting the environment and resources for the benefit of society and future generations is one of our most important concerns. Based on these principles, we consciously decided to become part of ASI, to commit ourselves to the same values and to meet this standard."
Fiona Solomon, CEO of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative, said: "We warmly congratulate alimex for achieving Performance Standard Certification V3 (2022). The company's plates, blanks and components from cast aluminium material offer corrosion-resistance, various degrees of hardness or variable surface structures – properties that are beneficial in a multitude of downstream applications. alimex's Performance Standard certification assures its customers that the production processes at the Willich site are underpinned by a broad range of industry-leading ESG policies and practices."
