Innovative contract manufacturer Alexandria Industries announced that it has invested in a new aluminium extrusion press. The new press will increase extrusion production capacity by 30 per cent. Made by Presezzi Extrusion Group (Vimercate, MB-Italy), the press will allow the company to extrude more complex product, and hold tighter tolerances, while utilizing a variety of alloys.
Tom Schabel, CEO, Alexandria Industries said: “By combining the latest in aluminium extrusion technology with the best employees, we will continue to lead our industry. This investment also aligns with our company vision and commitment to excellence. The new system will provide robust extruded aluminium components for our customers, while providing us continued business growth into the future.”
The company will add 19,000 square feet of space to its manufacturing facility to house a new extrusion press in Alexandria.
The new press will be equipped with the newest automation and mechanical technology, featuring a magnetic billet heating system- the first in the U.S. and fifth in the world. An automated log handling and washing system will increase production efficiencies and extrusion quality.
“We are delighted to be working with Alexandria Industries to provide our latest advancements in extrusion system technologies,” said Bruno Donada, area manager, Presezzi Extrusion Group. “The company’s collaborative culture fits perfectly with the way we run our business. This new partnership will generate business opportunities in the high-value aluminium extrusion industry for both companies.”
