Alcoa's share price surges 41.5% YTD on rising aluminium prices and positive market growth

According to Benzinga Edge’s Stock Rankings, Alcoa’s share price has increased from USD 84.25 to USD 92.28, entering into the top 10th percentile of momentum-ranked stocks this week. The jump of 8.03 points within the share price has increased the confidence of the shareholders and investors, along with the overall growth in the global aluminium market.

The effective growth in Alcoa’s share price has been driven by good returns along with comparatively lower volatility among all its competitors operating within the market. This upward trend of Alcoa has strategically aligned with the role of the company for supplying lightweight aluminium alloys to Ford Motor Co. for F-150 truck bodies and for aircraft engine components to RTX Corp.’s Pratt & Whitney division.

The recent upgrade within the pricing slab of various leading brokerage firms has reinforced a sense of confidence in the overall growth of the company. According to Nasdaq and TradingView, firms like Wells Fargo raised their price target from USD 40 to USD 58, while Citi lifted its share prices from USD 42 to USD 54 in December 2025. Moreover, other firms, including  UBS and BMO, have also given positive comments about fixing the share price of the company at about USD 49 to 50.

Aluminium prices have risen by almost 17 per cent in the year 2025, with USD 2,970 per tonne, which is the highest since May 2022. It is driven by several factors, including the tightening global supply of aluminium, the closure of smelters and the production limits in China.  Analysts are of the view that the vertical integration of Alcoa has assisted it in capturing significant EBITDA gains during this cyclical recovery.
