On November 2, Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the largest aluminium smelters globally, was awarded the Gulf Aluminium Council (G.A.C.)'s Health & Safety Award 2022 at the Gulf Aluminium Dinner that was hosted at the Ritz Carlton, Bahrain.
The award was handed over to Alba's Chief Executive Officer, Ali Al Baqali, via the hands of Alba's Chairman of the Board, Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, who was also the patron of the dinner.
Illuminated by the occasion, Alba's Chairman of the Board Shaikh Daij commented: "It takes leadership to improve Safety. I take the opportunity to thank our C.E.O. and the Management team for going the extra mile to ensure Safety is a top priority."
"We are pleased to be the recipient of G.A.C.'s Health & Safety Award and equally proud to be setting the benchmark for our peers and colleagues in the industry to make Health and Safety a priority," the chairman clearly stated.
Alba's C.E.O., Ali Al Baqali, exclaimed with immense pleasure: "When our Safety comes first, everything else falls in place. When it comes to Safety and Health, we never stop investing and never stop learning - and this is why we have a strong Safety culture."
"This award is dedicated to every employee and contractor personnel in Alba for acting upon Safety First, Safety Always," the C.E.O. asserted.
The G.A.C. Awards is arranged every year where G.C.C. aluminium smelters and downstream organisations practising best activities in different genres like Health and Safety, Environment and Community services are respectfully felicitated.
