
AKAM 6th Awareness Conference on “Sustainable & Circular Bharat: Towards Zero Waste in Metals Processing” conference at Taj Bengal on 15th and 2-Days Plant Visit during 14-15th June at Kolkata nearby metal recycling cluster.
Ministry of Mines and Ministry of Steel, Government of India, in collaboration with JNARDDC and Ministry of Mines PSU (NALCO) and Ministry of Steel PSUs (NMDC & MSTC) along with MRAI, will be organizing a series of events to mark the celebration of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) - CIRCULAR ECONOMY Campaign - 2023”, which is based on Sustainability/ Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE). AKAM’s main objective is to increase awareness about scrap recycling and waste utilization.

Under AKAM, MRAI has successfully conducted five Scrap Recycling (Fe & Non-Ferrous) and Waste Utilisation Drive to date in Mandi- Gobindgarh & Ludhiana, Jalna & Aurangabad, Jamnagar, Aurangabad, and Chennai, which included Ferrous & Non-Ferrous plant visits and Awareness conferences. Each of the Conferences had a participation of over 400 Delegates, including Government Dignitaries and were highly appreciated by all.
The 6th Awareness Conference on “Sustainable & Circular Bharat: Towards Zero Waste in Metals Processing” is scheduled for June 15, 2023, at Taj Bengal, Kolkata, West Bengal. Factory visits to Kolkata’s Ferrous and Non-Ferrous units will also be on June 14 & 15, 2023. The Ministry of Mines and the Ministry of Steel Secretariate will be the chief guest of the seminar.
To make it a more successful and resourceful conference, AL Circle officials and members will give their full support and involvement at the AKAM 6th Awareness Conference on “Sustainable & Circular Bharat: Towards Zero Waste in Metals Processing”. More than 400 delegates are expected to participate from MSME Units of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous at this conference.
