Aditya Alumina Refinery, Kansariguda – a unit of Hindalco Industries Limited – has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Centurion University of Technology. The MoU is a major initiative for establishing a veterinary hospital in Kansariguda and is a key move by the company towards rural and community welfare.
This project is a significant part of Hindalco’s well-thought-out strategy for corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which seeks to provide high-quality and much-needed veterinary services for poultry, livestock, and stray animals, directly addressing the requirements for accessible animal healthcare in the rural communities.
The key initiative of the Animal Health Van includes mobile ambulatory services, which will cover 50 villages across the Kansariguda and Laxmipur areas. Having this van in place is expected to improve livestock health, which will eventually help build the Indian rural economy.
Aditya Alumina’s commitment to sustainable livelihoods and community empowerment
Mr Mazhar Beig, Unit Head and President of Aditya Alumina Refinery, has said about their recent MOU contract, “This initiative underscores our dedication to inclusive growth, sustainable development, and delivering tangible benefits to grassroots communities through veterinary care.”
He has also added that the recent association with Centurion University not only impacts the livestock healthcare in the rural area but also improves sustainable livelihood and animal husbandry practices. Centurion University, along with Aditya Alumina, is taking a key initiative in implementing the project, offering technical expertise, operational guidance, and on-ground support to ensure long-term success and measurable impact.
The aluminium industry is driving social change as well as sustainable development
Blending sustainable development with community welfare, Hindalco continues to prove that they are not only a global industrial leader when it comes to aluminium production but also a catalyst for positive change in India’s rural heartlands. Community welfare initiatives like this not only strengthen the industry’s role in supporting livelihoods but also talk about Hindalco Industries’ strong intent for local economies and being instrumental for long-term societal growth.
