
The price of A00 aluminium ingot witnessed an upward movement, except Monday, over the week. Ingot price started the week with a decline of RMB 30 per tonne from September 6 to RMB 14390 per tonne on Monday, September 9. A00 aluminium ingot price ended RMB 80 per tonne higher at RMB 14550 per tonne after Thursday’s closing. China market is closed on Friday September 13 for the Mid-Autumn Festival.

As updated by Shanghai Metals Market, social inventories of primary aluminium in China continued to decline this week for a third straight week, as some regions saw greater deliveries. As of Monday September 9, SMM data showed that stocks across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, decreased by 14,000 tonnes from Thursday September 5 to stand at 992,000 tonnes. Primary aluminium inventories declined to 972,000 tonnes as of Thursday September 12.

As far as raw material is concerned, the prices of alumina remained unchanged in China markets over the week ending Thursday. The average alumina price is currently hovering at ended RMB 2547 per tonne.
The average Bauxite (4.5≤Al/Si<5.5) price in Shanxi stood at RMB 440 per tonne on Monday, down RMB 10 per tonne or 2.22 per cent, after remaining flat since July 31 at RMB 450 per tonne. The average Bauxite (4.5≤Al/Si<5.5) price in Henan dropped from RMB410 per tonne to RMB400 per tonne on Monday, 09 September 2019. The bauxite prices did not show any movement after Monday. The price of bauxite remained unchanged in Guangxi and Guizhou China markets.
