A00 aluminium ingot price records the second-highest growth this year of RMB240/t; Alumina price down by RMB4/t

The A00 aluminium ingot price in China has recorded a sweeping growth today, on December 18, of RMB 240 per tonne to stand at RMB 14,360 per tonne, found Shanghai Metals Market. This is the second highest growth this year after the increase of RMB 300 per tonne on August 12, from RMB 13,950 per tonne to RMB 14,250 per tonne and the second consecutive rise after three days of decline during December 11-16 from RMB 14,130 per tonne to RMB 13,970 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,340 per tonne and RMB 14,380 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 130-170 per tonne.

A00 aluminium ingot price grows by RMB 240/t

Gongyi has seen the highest growth today in A00 aluminium ingot price of RMB 270 per tonne to RMB 14,345 per tonne, followed by Tianjin, where the price has increased by RMB 260 per tonne to hover at RMB 14,380 per tonne. In both Wuxi and Shenyang, the price is up by RMB 240 per tonne to RMB 14,380 per tonne and RMB 14,335 per tonne, respectively.

The robust growth in the aluminium ingot price has triggered a rise of RMB 200 per tonne in the aluminium alloy (A356) price from RMB 14,800 per tonne to RMB 15,000 per tonne. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,950 per tonne and RMB 15,050 per tonne. The prices of the aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have not shown a sign of change today from their respective prices of RMB 14,850 per tonne and RMB 15,750 per tonne.

Aluminium alloy(A356) is up by RMB200/t

Among the input costs, only the average spot price of alumina has recorded a drop of RMB 4 per tonne to RMB 2,425 per tonne, while the prices of other aluminium raw materials like the pre-baked anode, bauxite, and aluminium fluoride have remained restrained at RMB 2,850 per tonne, RMB 560 per tonne, RMB 7,900 per tonne, respectively.
