
According to Shanghai Metals Market, the A00 aluminium ingot price has recorded a sharp fall of RMB 270 per tonne to RMB 12,770 per tonne on Wednesday, May 13. This marks the highest decline in A00 aluminium ingot price since April 2020. On April 2 and April 21, the primary aluminium ingot price had fallen by RMB 220 per tonne to come in at RMB 11,300 per tonne and by RMB 240 per tonne to RMB 12,260 per tonne, respectively. The average prices today are expected to range between RMB 12,750 per tonne and RMB 12,790 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a discount of premium price of RMB 10-30 per tonne.

Gongyi has seen the highest decline today among all other major provinces in China. The A00 aluminium ingot price there has declined by RMB 320 per tonne to RMB 12,820 per tonne, followed by Shenyang, where the price has decreased by 290 per tonne to stand at RMB 12,745 per tonne. In Wuxi, the price has fallen by RMB 265 per tonne to RMB 12,765 per tonne and that in Foshan, Hangzhou, and Chongqing by RMB 260 per tonne to RMB 12,770 per tonne, 12,750 per tonne, and RMB 12,800 per tonne. Tianjin and Linyi have seen a plunge of RMB 240 per tonne to RMB 12,750 per tonne and RMB 12,940 per tonne, respectively.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has registered a fall as well of RMB 300 per tonne to stand at RMB 13,550 per tonne, found Shanghai Metals Market. But the prices of aluminium alloys (ADC12) and aluminium alloy (A380) have recorded no change from their previous prices of RMB 13,950 per tonne and RMB 14,850 per tonne, respectively.
As far as the input costs are concerned, none have shown any changes, except the price of the Australian alumina FOB which has dipped by US$ 1 per tonne to US$ 241 per tonne.
