
A00 aluminium ingot price in China has registered a hike on Wednesday, December 24, after three consecutive days of decline during December 21-23 from RMB 16,960 per tonne to RMB 16,060 per tonne. The price today is standing at RMB 16,270 per tonne after growing by RMB 210 per tonne, found the Shanghai Metals Market data. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 16,250 per tonne and RMB 16,290 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 230-270 per tonne, up by RMB 20 per tonne from the previous day.

The primary aluminium ingot price in Foshan has seen the highest growth of RMB 280 per tonne to stand at RMB 16,480 per tonne, followed by the hike of RMB 225 per tonne in Chongqing to RMB 16,335 per tonne. In Gongyi and Wuxi, A00 aluminium ingot price has increased by RMB 210 per tonne to come in at RMB 16,210 per tonne and RMB 16,270 per tonne, respectively, while the price in Shenyang and Hangzhou has hiked by RMB 200 per tonne and RMB 190 per tonne to stand, respectively, at RMB 16,255 per tonne and RMB 16,320 per tonne. In Tianjin and Linyi, the primary aluminium ingot price is hovering at RMB 16,270 per tonne and RMB 16,280 per tonne, growing by RMB 160 per tonne and RMB 120 per tonne, respectively.
Coming to the primary aluminium input costs, the average alumina spot price in China has grown by RMB 9 per tonne to settle at RMB 2,328 per tonne, as of December 24. In Shandong, the price has hiked by RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 2,310 per tonne, while that in Henan and Shanxi is standing at RMB 2,340 per tonne, increasing by the same amount. In Guizhou and Guangxi, alumina spot price has inched up by RMB 5 per tonne to RMB 2,275 per tonne and RMB 2,270 per tonne, respectively.
Imported alumina price in China has jumped by RMB 25 per tonne to peg at RMB 2,335 per tonne, according to SMM. Australian alumina FOB price has climbed by US$ 2 per tonne to US$ 302 per tonne, as of December 24.
Aluminium powder price has grown by RMB 0.20 per kg to stand at RMB 19.85 per kg on December 24, according to SMM.
