A00 aluminium ingot price in China declines by RMB160/t after two days of hike; Alumina spot price inches down by RMB5/t

After the two consecutive days of hike on December 17 and 20, A00 aluminium ingot price in China has plunged by RMB 160 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,420 per tonne on Tuesday, December 21, found the Shanghai Metals Market. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 19,400 per tonne and RMB 19,440 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 140-100 per tonne.

In Chongqing, the primary aluminium ingot price has nosedived by RMB 200 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,460 per tonne, while the price in Hangzhou has shrunk by RMB 175 per tonne to come in at RMB 19,415 per tonne. In Gongyi, Wuxi, and Shenyang, A00 aluminium ingot price has decreased by RMB 170 per tonne to peg at RMB 19,420 per tonne, RMB 19,410 per tonne, and RMB 19,380 per tonne, respectively. In Tianjin and Linyi, primary aluminium price has slipped by RMB 160 per tonne and RMB 130 per tonne to RMB 19,390 per tonne and RMB 19,510 per tonne, respectively.

Among aluminium alloys prices, aluminium alloy (A356) price has declined by RMB 100 per tonne to stand at RMB 21,450 per tonne, with average prices likely to range between RMB 21,050 per tonne and RMB 21,200 per tonne, learned SMM.

However, aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price have remained restrained at RMB 20,400 per tonne and RMB 21,600 per tonne, respectively.

Among primary aluminium input costs, the average alumina spot price has dropped by RMB 5 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,818 per tonne, nearing to making a record of month-long fall. In Guizhou and Shandong, the price has decreased by RMB 65 per tonne and RMB 25 per tonne, respectively, to come in at RMB 2,850 per tonne and RMB 2,915 per tonne.

Among other input costs, caustic soda (32% concentration) price in Shandong has hiked by RMB 55 per tonne to clock in at RMB 820 per tonne as of December 21. The average prices are likely to range between RMB 710-930 per tonne.

Caustic soda (50% concentration) price in Shandong has climbed by RMB 85 per tonne to peg at RMB 1,395 per tonne on December 21. The average prices are estimated to range between RMB 1350-1440 per tonne.
