LME aluminium price moves down by US$47/t; SHFE price decreases by US$29/t
On Monday, December 20, LME aluminium cash (bid) price moved down by US$47 per tonne or 1.74 percent to stand at US$2,645 per tonne. LME aluminium official settlement price on the other hand dropped down by US$48.5 or by 1.80 percent to come in at US$2,645.50 per tonne, for the same day. 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price was recorded at US$2,674 per tonne and US$2,675 per tonne. December 22 bid price and December 22 offer price stood at US$2,655 per tonne and US$2,660 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock closed at 975825 tonnes. Live warrants and cancelled warrant closed at 754300 tonnes and 221525 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price settled at US$2,694.50 per tonne.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
On Tuesday, December 21, the benchmark aluminium price for SHFE decreased by US$29 per tonne to stand in at US$3,064 per tonne.
The most-traded SHFE 2201 aluminium closed up 0.62 percent or RMB 120 per tonne to RMB 19605 per tonne, with open interest down 9437 lots to 125679 lots.
The most-liquid SHFE 2201 aluminium contract fell 0.89 percent to settle at RMB 19,535 per tonne overnight. Three-month LME aluminium fell 2.58 percent to settle at US$2,663 per tonne yesterday.
