According to Shanghai Metals Market, the A00 aluminium ingot price has decided to end the week with another rise, though marginal, while all the input costs have remained restrained. Marking the fourth straight day of growth, the ingot price today has increased by RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 14,450 per tonne, on Friday, December 20. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 14,430 per tonne and RMB 14,470 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 140-180 per tonne.

The continued rise in the A00 aluminium ingot price could be attributed to the tight supply of primary aluminium in the market amidst decent consumption of the metal. Also, the production is on a lower trend because of the output cut at many smelters during the ongoing Winter Heating Season.
However, not all major cities have witnessed a growth in the price today. In Linyi, Gongyi, and Hangzhou, the price has declined by RMB 40 per tonne and RMB 5 per tonne to stand at RMB 14,430 per tonne and RMB 14,445 per tonne, respectively.
In Chongqing, the price has increased the highest by RMB 50 per tonne to RMB 14,490 per tonne, followed by Tianjin where the price has grown by RMB 40 per tonne to RMB 14,450 per tonne. In Shenyang, Foshan, and Wuxi, the A00 aluminium ingot price has recorded a growth of RMB 15 per tonne and RMB 10 per tonne to RMB 14,390 per tonne and RMB 14,450 per tonne, respectively.
The input costs like that of the bauxite, alumina, pre-baked anode, aluminium fluoride, and aluminium powder have shown no sign of change from their respective prices of RMB 560 per tonne, RMB 2,425 per tonne, RMB 2,850 per tonne, RMB 7,900 per tonne, and RMB 18 per kg.
