
According to the Shanghai Metals Market, A00 aluminium ingot price in China has reopened the market after the New Year Holiday with a plunge of RMB 120 per tonne to stand at RMB 15,590 per tonne, as of January 4, 2021. This marks the fifth consecutive day of decline since December 28, 2020. The average prices on January 4 are expected to range between RMB 15,570 per tonne and RMB 15,610 per tonne, with spot contract to be traded at a premium price of RMB 70-110 per tonne, up by RMB 40 per tonne from the previous day.

In Foshan, A00 aluminium ingot price has declined the highest by RMB 150 per tonne to RMB 15,660 per tonne, followed by Shenyang and Tianjin, where the price has decreased by RMB 140 per tonne to come in at RMB 15,585 per tonne and RMB 15,590 per tonne, respectively. In Gongyi, A00 aluminium ingot price has fallen by RMB 130 per tonne to RMB 15,520 per tonne, while the price in Hangzhou and Chongqing has reduced by RMB 125 per tonne and RMB 120 per tonne to RMB 15,590 per tonne and RMB 15,585 per tonne, respectively. In Wuxi and Linyi, primary aluminium ingot price has shrunk by RMB 100 per tonne to RMB 15,600 per tonne and RMB 15,660 per tonne.
Among the input costs, prebaked anode price has grown by RMB 60 per tonne to peg at 3,545 per tonne on January 4, found the Shanghai Metals Market. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 3,375 per tonne and RMB 3,715 per tonne.
The price of aluminium powder, on the other hand, has slipped by RMB 0.10 per kg to clock at RMB 19.15 per kg.
Backed on the decrease in China’s primary aluminium ingot price, the prices of aluminium alloys have plunged as well by RMB 100 per tonne. Aluminium alloys (ADC12) price is standing at RMB 17,100 per tonne, while aluminium alloy (A356) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price are hovering at RMB 16,300 per tonne and RMB 18,000 per tonne, respectively.
