Ford is set to use more aluminium than ever for its future 2020 Ford Branco. The automaker already uses aluminium for the F-150's body which comes from various suppliers.
Though it’s not certain that Bronco will receive everything as the Ranger but the most of Rangers’ gasoline engines are a sure thing. Branco will keep its square look, which made it an icon among its peers, but as time goes it is expected that it will get some sort of modern twist.
Raj Nair, Ford's product development chief has already seen huge potential after using aluminium in F-150’S body.
"The fact that we're collaborating on technology at this scale shows a pretty big commitment on both our parts," said Nair.

Globally, aluminium output has increased manifold. Countries like China and those in the Middle East are churning more and more of the metal than they need for their domestic consumption. Though the glut has put a tremendous downward pressure on price scenario of aluminium, experts say, there are enough takers for the excess metals. The speed at which automotive industry is creating demand for aluminium, it is sure to lap the volume in the years to come.
However, the Bronco is due to arrive sometime in 2020; there is still a lot of time for many changes to be introduced.
