Detail

Rodabell is a global leader in aluminium casting solutions, operating from Spain and Bahrain with over 140 employees. The company specialises in designing and supplying advanced systems, consumables and tools for aluminium casting, combining innovation, flexibility and end-to-end service. Rodabell’s strategic focus on R&D, sustainability and international market expansion enables it to deliver cutting-edge, low-carbon solutions while growing its global footprint.

In an interview for “ALUEXPO 2025 & Beyond”, Rodabell details its engineering capabilities in designing and managing casting lines, offering onsite optimisation, training and multipurpose mechanical solutions. It focuses on automation, energy efficiency, eco-friendly materials and Industry 4.0 trends reinforces its commitment to innovation, efficiency and safety. The interview accentuates Rodabell’s market expansion strategy, including upcoming showcases like Aluexpo 2025, where it will present cutting-edge billet and slab casting technologies, multimedia project demonstrations and cross-industry engagement opportunities.

AL Circle: Could you share how RODABELL integrates sustainability—such as recycling-friendly design, energy efficiency, or eco-conscious materials— into your product and service offerings?

Rodabell: Sustainability is one of our focus areas in our corporate strategy. We are working on three specific topics:

  • Energy: For the last 5 years, at Rodabell, we have only been buying energy produced by renewable energies. In our ongoing solar energy production project, we are going one step further; we would like to produce 80% of the total energy consumed in our workshop with solar panels installed on our workshop roofs. So far, we have 130k,W and by the end of 2025, we will add an extra 110kW of installed capacity.
  • Packaging: All the packing materials we used are 100% recycled. These materials include carton, paper, wood, and plastics.
  • Engineered systems: We have been focusing on designing and manufacturing more eco-friendly systems by including components that use less power and specially reduced lubrication needs.

AL Circle: Which Industry 4.0 trends—like digitalisation, automation, or smart maintenance—does RODABELL embrace to stay ahead in the evolving industry landscape?

Rodabell: Automation is key in our industry. It is essential in order to have a homogeneous process, especially in aluminium casting operations, where the parameters  to be met should be accurate, as you may encounter several issues, on performance and most importantly, safety. We are also focusing on automation to reduce the exposure of our customers to the lack of manpower, which is becoming a problem in many countries.

At Rodabell, we are including several layers of automation. The top layer includes a remote access module that allows our technical team to be connected to the system when the customers need assistance. Our system includes data collection hardware to reproduce trends that continuously provide relevant information of the system status. This information informs us before failures happen and gives us the ability to act on the machine in a preventive mode. This will considerably reduce the downtimes.
