AL Circle: How will the demand for aluminium FRP grow in 2024 and beyond? Which manufacturing sectors will be the key demand drivers for aluminium FRP?
Mohamed Rafea: According to market reports and studies, the global aluminium market is forecasted to reach a CAGR of 5% to 7% in the next five years. Despite that, the automotive, aerospace, and packaging industries drive the aluminium industry. However, the future of the global aluminium FRP is promising with many opportunities, and the building and construction sector is also experiencing an upward growth rate. This sector is considered one of our key markets in addition to the machine and equipment components.
AL Circle: How does GARMCO navigate the complex trade dynamics in the aluminium flat-rolled segment?
Mohamed Rafea: Despite fluctuating raw material prices, shipping freights, trade regulations, the global economy, and geopolitical tensions, GARMCO is managing those challenges by diversifying its supply chains to create a strong supplier base and exploring alternative options. GARMCO is investing in ecofriendly practices to comply with recent trade regulations and technological innovations to improve the production processes’ efficiency and reduce costs. GARMCO invests in research and development to introduce innovative ideas and products and expand our market presence.
AL Circle: What are GARMCO’s strategic priorities and goals for the next five years? How does GARMCO plan to expand its global footprint and market presence?
Mohamed Rafea: GARMCO is one of the leaders in aluminium flat-rolled products. Our goals are to continue providing high-quality products and maintaining our reputable image, which has been built over the last 40 years. Our strategy is to expand the production output for the next five years to reach 180k MT per annum, and the goal is to gain more market share in the global aluminium industry in response to the rise in market demand for aluminium products.
