Venezuelan state aluminum reducer Venalum is focused on aluminum production and domestic and international market sales. Its plant is located in the Matanzas industrial area in Puerto Ordaz city in eastern Venezuela's Guayana region. The company is the largest producer of primary aluminum in Latin America with an installed capacity of 430,000t/y, though over 2011 it has been operating at less than half that figure. The company exports 75% of its production to the U.S., Europe and Japan and sell the remaining production to the domestic market. Venalum is a subsidiary of state heavy industry holding CVG.
