Alumina price on October 21 opened with the continual trend of an all-time high of RMB 4642 per tonne, with an increase of 7.8 per cent since last week.
Apart from the recent incident of flood in Guinea, which affected the bauxite supply in China, the country's domestic supply has been humungously affected by the shutdown of domestic bauxite mines in Henan and Shanxi, compounded by the closures and production cuts at alumina plants in Hebei and Shandong due to severe pollution.
In the provinces, Shanxi peaked at the average alumina price today with a range of RMB 4,600-4,870 per tonne and an average of RMB 4,735 per tonne, followed by Shandong and Henan, where the prices ranged between RMB 4,600 per tonne and RMB 4,700 per tonne with an average of RMB 4,650 per tonne. The alumina price in Guangxi averaged RMB 4,600 per tonne (ranged RMB 4,550 - 4,650 per tonne), and of all the provinces Guizhou was at the lowest with an average of RMB 4,475 per tonne ranging RMB 4,400 - 4,550 per tonne as on date.
Only in the provinces of Lianyungang and Bayuquan, the alumina prices remain unchanged at an average of RMB 3,990 per tonne (range RMB 3,960-4,020 per tonne) and RMB 4,000 per tonne (range RMB 3,960-4,040 per tonne), respectively.
A00 aluminium ingot
A00 aluminium ingot price (average) has seen over 4 per cent price swell M-o-M. The average price on September 20 (Friday) was RMB 19,960 per tonne, whereas the price on October 21 reached RMB 20,790 per tonne. W-o-W price has increased by RMB 50 per tonne, with a price on October 14 of RMB 20,740 per tonne. The spot contract of A00 aluminium ingot is to be traded at a discount price of RMB 20 to a premium of RMB 30 per tonne.
The average A00 aluminium ingot pricing risen in most of the provinces, with RMB 20,800 per tonne (+300) in Gongyi, RMB 20,580 per tonne (+260) in Foshan, RMB 20,800 per tonne (+300) in Wuxi, RMB 20,790 per tonne (+280) in Hangzhou, RMB 20,690 per tonne (+250) in Chongqing, RMB 20,690 per tonne (+240) in Shenyang, RMB 20,740 per tonne (+190) in Tianjin and RMB 20,790 per tonne (+260) in Linyi. The price range in the provinces varies between RMB 20,560 per tonne to RMB 20,810 per tonne.
High-purity aluminium, both 99.99 per cent and 99.96 per cent, is hyped by RMB 300 with an average rate of RMB per tonne and RMB per tonne, respectively. Simultaneously, low-carbon aluminium has also gained RMB 261 per tonne with a sum average of RMB 21,657 per tonne.
In the aluminium alloys segment, ADC12 and A380 have both gained 100 RMB with a range of price between RMB 20,800 and RMB 21,000 per tonne (average RMB 20,900 per tonne) and RMB 21,800 per tonne and RMB 22,000 per tonne (average RMB 21,900per tonne), respectively. Meanwhile, A356, which has also gained RMB 300, ranges from RMB 21,100 to RMB 21,400 per tonne on Monday Market. The A360 variant ranges from RMB 21,300 to RMB 21,500 per tonne, with a similar gain of RMB 300 per tonne as visible on SMM.
