Yampa Valley Sustainability Council requests Coloradans to prioritize aluminium recycling for October

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Yampa Valley Sustainability Council (YVSC) collaborate to inform Coloradans about the best trash management techniques. Residents are being urged by YVSC to purchase and recycle aluminium and other metal containers over plastic throughout October.

A news release stated that aluminium is one of the easiest metals to handle since it can be recycled repeatedly. Residents must, however, make sure they are recycling properly. To guarantee that aluminium and metal products are handled correctly, below is some advice to follow:

• Keep things tidy. To get rid of food residue, be sure to rinse any aluminium cans or containers. To avoid contaminating other recyclables, dispose of the container if it is crusted with food.
• As long as it is clear of food residue and is larger than the palm of your hand, aluminium foil may be recycled in the same ways as cans.
• Aluminium is a precious metal. According to the news release, it may help municipal recycling programmes become profitable and perhaps generate employment.

Most used metal and aluminium in Steamboat may be recycled for free at D&D Metal Recycle, located at 40025 Baker Way, No. 774426, close to Duckels Gravel Pit off U.S. Highway 40. Additionally, local recycling facilities may have unique specifications for aluminium and metal items, so residents should inquire with them.

As part of its "Erase the Waste" programme, which focuses on a key area of waste reduction each month, YVSC is encouraging the recycling of aluminium and metal goods this October.
