
The largest producer of green metal in India, Vedanta Aluminium Business, has secured 4th rank among global aluminium producers in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) family.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices is a global benchmark that shadows the performance of the world's leading companies in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria. Moreover, more than 10,000 companies from around the world across various industries undergo annual evaluations of their sustainability practices, which are both industry-specific and financially material, out of which only top-ranked companies within each sector are selected for inclusion in the DJSI family.

The commodity tycoon Anil Agarwal led Vedanta’s aluminium division had also has set a target of attaining 24% depletion in GHG emissions intensity over 2012 baseline by FY 2025.
