
The United States aluminium crude metal and alloys imports from the United Arab Emirates rose in November 2020 after two consecutive months of decline, found the US Geological Survey. Data shows the imports in November stood at 33,900 tonnes, up by 10,600 tonnes or 45.49 per cent month-on-month. In October, the imports were at 23,300 tonnes, registering a downfall of 26.73 per cent from 31,800 tonnes in September. The United States aluminium semis imports from the UAE also dwindled in September by 5.64 per cent from 33,700 tonnes in the previous month.

On a year-on-year calculation, the United States aluminium crude metal and alloys imports from the UAE in November 2020 stood down by 11,600 tonnes or 25.49 per cent from 45,500 tonnes.
During January-November, the United States aluminium crude metal and alloys imports from the UAE came in at 307,000 tonnes, down by 30 per cent from 439,000 tonnes during the same period last year.
The United States total aluminium crude metal and alloys imports in November 2020 amounted to 241,000 tonnes, bringing the total imports in eleven months to 3.04 million tonnes. The imports in November edged 10,000 tonnes or 4.33 per cent higher than 231,000 tonnes of imports in October 2020. On a year-on-year basis, the US imports in November were up by 25.31 per cent from 302,000 tonnes.
The United States total aluminium semis imports in eleven months last year recorded a downfall of 12.89 per cent from 3.490 million tonnes a year ago.
