
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the United States imported 33,800 tonnes of US aluminium scrap from Canada, sowing a month-on-month decline of 2,000 per tonne or by 5.58%. In September 2021, 35,800 tonnes of US aluminium scrap were imported to Canada, showing a sharp downfall of 700 tonnes or 1.91% from 36,500 tonnes in August 2021.

On a year-on-year calculation, US aluminium scrap imported from Canada in October 2021 went down by 2,700 tonnes or by 7.39% from 36,500 tonnes in October 2020.
From January to October, the imported aluminium scrap from Canada recorded at 343,000 tonnes. For the same period last year, the amount was registered at 287,000 tonnes.
According to the data shared by the USGS, the total amount of aluminium plates, sheets, bars, crude metals and alloys, and scrap, imported from Canada for October 2021 pegged at 287,000 tonnes, showing a year-on-year surge of 73,000 tonnes. The total amount for October 2020 clocked at 241,000 tonnes.
