According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the United States imported 233,000 tonnes of US aluminium crude metals and alloys from Canada in October 2021, showing a month-on-month hike of 32,000 per tonne or by 91.38%. In September 2021, 201,000 tonnes of US aluminium crude metals and alloys were imported from Canada, showing a decline of 18,000 per tonne from 219,000 tonnes in August 2021.
On a year-on-year calculation, US aluminium crude metals and alloys imported from Canada in October escalated by 75,000 tonnes or by 47.46% from 158,000 tonnes.
From January to October, the imported aluminium crude metals and alloys from Canada stood at 2,090,000. For the same period last year, the amount registered at 1,990,000 tonnes.
As per the data shared by the USGS, the total amount of aluminium plates, sheets, bars, crude metals and alloys, and scrap, imported from Canada for October 2021 totalled at 287,000 tonnes, showing a year-on-year increase of 73,000 tonnes. The total amount recorded for October 2020 closed at 214,000 tonnes.
