U.S. imposes anti-dumping duties on Chinese aluminium foil imports
<p>The United States Commerce Department yesterday announced that they have imposed countervailing duties on aluminium foil imports from China. The Commerce Department found imports of aluminium foil from China are subsidised. The Department has imposed duties ranging from 16.56 per cent to 80.97 per cent.</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><img style="vertical-align: middle;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/ALUMINIUM%20FOIL%209TH%20AUGUST.jpg" alt="news" /></p> <p>The Commerce Department will instruct US Customs and Border Protection to collect cash deposits from importers of aluminium foil from China based on these preliminary rates.</p> <p>In March, the United States Department of Commerce announced that it has launched a probe to determine whether Chinese aluminium foil imports in the U.S. should be subject to anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties.&nbsp;</p> <p>{googleAdsense}</p> <p>Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said, &ldquo;The United States is committed to free, fair and reciprocal trade, and will continue to validate the information provided to us that brought us to this decision."</p> <p>&nbsp;"The Trump Administration will not stand idly by as harmful trade practices from foreign nations attempt to take advantage of our essential industries, workers, and businesses."</p>
