thyssenkrupp Materials UK is pleased to announce its collaboration with ClearVUE.Business, a reputable net-zero consultancy, for a pioneering sustainability project aimed at energy monitoring. This initiative reflects the company's dedication to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 under the sustainability strategy "BEYOND," in line with thyssenkrupp Materials Services, its parent company.
As a prominent supplier of materials and supply chain solutions in the Western world, thyssenkrupp Materials UK provides an array of materials, including steel, aluminium, titanium, and other products, as well as in-house capabilities for cutting, CNC machining, fabrication, and coil processing. The company plays a vital role in a variety of sectors, including manufacturing.
The implementation of advanced energy monitoring equipment at five key thyssenkrupp Materials UK sites, scheduled to begin in October, will provide valuable insights into scope 1 and 2 emissions, as well as detailed reporting on costs and carbon intensity per product manufactured.
The objective is to identify targeted areas for improvement, thereby achieving climate neutrality by analyzing the data generated through the energy monitoring equipment. The teams will work towards improvements and establish a comprehensive cradle-to-gate carbon footprint for thyssenkrupp Materials UK's products by 2024, with a step-by-step rollout strategy for selected items.
This sustainability project underscores thyssenkrupp Materials UK's commitment to environmental responsibility and its endeavour to become a leader in sustainability, supporting the manufacturing sector. The collaboration with ClearVUE.Business is poised to have a transformative impact on the company's overall consumption and emissions.
The Sustainability Director at thyssenkrupp Materials UK, Carl Beckett, exemplified: "We are thrilled to collaborate with ClearVUE.Business on this exciting sustainability project.
