Three-month LME aluminium fell 1.1% to close at US$2,195/t; SHFE aluminium gained 0.49%
Three-month LME aluminium fell 1.1% to close at US$2,195 per tonne on Tuesday, with open interest rising to 744,000 lots. SMM expects the contract to trade between US$2,150-2,210 per tonne today.
As of Tuesday, March 16, LME aluminium cash (bid) price stands at US$ 2174.50 per tonne, LME official settlement price stands at US$ 2174.50 per tonne; 3-months bid price stands at US$ 2201 per tonne, 3-months offer price is US$ 2201 per tonne; Dec 22 bid price stands at US$ 2230 per tonne, and Dec 22 offer price stands at US$ 2230 per tonne.
The LME aluminium opening stock stood at 1910650 tonnes. Live Warrants totalled 1586875 tonnes, and Cancelled Warrants were 323775 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-months Asian Reference Price is hovering at US$ 2213.25 per tonne.
SHFE Aluminium Price Trend
Benchmark aluminium price for SHFE decreased to stand at US$ 2710 per tonne on Wednesday, 17 March 2021.
The most-liquid SHFE 2105 aluminium contract gained 0.49% to end the day at RMB17,575 per tonne on Tuesday , with open interest rising 17,134 lots to 254,000 lots.
The contract fell 0.98% to settle at RMB17,610 on Tuesday night. It is likely to trade between RMB17,400-17,700 per tonne today.
