
The US exports of aluminium scrap stood at 151,000 tonnes in November 2019, with a year-on-year decrease of 14.2%, according to the latest report from the US Geological Survey. Exports dropped by 3.82% from October’s export volume of 157,000 tonnes and 2.58% from September’s export volume of 155,000 tonnes.
The US exported 1.72 million tonnes of aluminium scrap in the first eleven months of 2019, from 1.6 million tonnes exported in the first eleven months of 2018. This records an increase of 7.5% year-on-year.

Aluminium scrap exports to India came in at 23,400 tonnes in November 2019. Exports reduced by 22% or 6,600 tonnes year-on-year but increased by 15.27% or 3,100 tonnes month-on-month. The US had exported 30,000 tonnes and 20,300 tonnes in November 2018 and October 2019, respectively. Compared with September, exports to India climbed by 10.38% from 21,200 tonnes.
Exports of aluminium scrap registered 23.71% year-on-year growth in January-November 2019. The US exported 240,000 tonnes to India, from 194,000 tonnes exported in January-November 2018.
