Tenova, a company in the Techint Group specialising in solutions for the metals and mining industries, has reportedly bagged a new contract from Henan Tongren Aluminium Co. Ltd. for continuous annealing and chemical pre-treatment line for processing aluminium strip coils.

Henan Tongren Aluminium Co. Ltd. is a Chinese manufacturer specialising in the production of aluminium products. The company’s new line is dedicated to processing 2XXX, 5XXX, 6XXX, and 7XXX aluminium alloys, which will then be supplied to Tongren’s production plant in Sanmenxia, Henan Province.
The width of the strips in the new line range from 1.000 mm to 2.650mm and thickness from 0.3 mm to 4.5 mm. Automotive and aerospace are the two main sectors that will use these alloys. The total production for the line is expected to be about 100,000 tonnes per year with a processing speed of 60m/min.
The line is equipped with a double unwinding pay off reels and with a tailor-made stitcher with automatic spray lubrication system. The entry side has an integrated scrap chopper. The alkali degreasing section is made by a spray tunnel with multistage cascade rinsing section. Entry and exit loopers are horizontal type with double winch motorisation.
The exit side, on the other hand, includes a tension leveler, a pre-aging furnace, an automatic surface inspection system, a dry lube smelter, and a rotary shear.
The line is expected to start production at the beginning of 2021.
Nicola Cavero, Tenova senior vice president Italimpianti & Strip Processing said, “This new order confirms Tenova as a reliable partner in processing lines for aluminium thanks to our continuous effort to improve the design and the manufacture of its supply to maximise line availability.”
