
Taiwan exported 19,600 tonnes of aluminium semi-finished products to the US in the first three months of 2019, a jump of 520.25 per cent from the same period last year, according to the latest Mineral Industry Survey report from US Geological Survey. Taiwan’s export to the US was 3,160 tonnes in the first three months of 2018.

Exports of semi-finished products increased 337 per cent in March compared with the same period last year. Exports to the US came in at 8,610 tonnes in March 2019, from 1,970 tonnes in March 2018. On a month-on-month comparison, exports stood 59.74 per cent higher than February’s export volume of 5,390 tonnes.
Taiwan’s exports of total aluminium including scrap to the US stood at 20,000 tonnes in the first three months of 2019, 431.91per cent higher than the corresponding period of 2018. Taiwan had exported 3,760 tonnes of aluminium in the first three months of 2018.
In March, aluminium exports to the US came in at 8,650 tonnes, an increase of 296.79 per cent from 2,180 tonnes exported in the same period last year.
On the other hand, Taiwan imported 1,510 tonnes of semi-finished products from the US in the first three months of 2019, from 2,940 tonnes imported in the first three months of 2018.
