The centre provides people in crisis with climate-controlled, high-performance shelters consisting of over 280 beds. The construction of the shelter is made of aluminium-framed structures. The company has used aluminium because it offers them sustainable, high-performing and most advanced buildings. Moreover, this metal supported the company to develop quick designs, making it available to the people at the earliest in comparison to the conventional methods.

The homeless people will have access to various on-site support services, including workforce development and employment assistance provided by the city of Phoenix and St Vincent de Paul. The facility also allows residents with pets and offers ample space for personal belongings.

The centre's design includes units where the residents can cohabitate, addressing the needs of all the people who are actively looking for shelter after transitioning to homelessness. This approach fosters a supportive environment, encouraging residents to engage with available resources and work towards self-sufficiency.

The Phoenix Navigation Center is part of a broader strategy by city officials to add nearly 800 new permanent shelter beds by 2025. This initiative reflects Phoenix's commitment to providing human temporary housing solutions for its unsheltered residents.

As conveyed by the President of Sprung Structures, Phil Sprung, "Successfully used in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Portland and Phoenix, and other urban centres, these special structures provide people who are experiencing homelessness with temporary housing as they travel the path to self-sufficiency and a brighter, more secure future."

Sprung Structures, established in 1887, specialises in rapid-construction buildings used across various industries. Their tensioned-fabric structures have been implemented in multiple cities to combat homelessness, demonstrating their versatility and effectiveness in providing immediate shelter solutions.
