SMM A00 aluminium ingot price registers RMB90/t drop post-CNY Holiday; Low carbon aluminium price contracts by RMB80/t

On Monday, February 19, China’s A00 aluminium ingot price dropped by RMB 90 per tonne to arrive at RMB 18,820 per tonne, with the average prices between RMB 18,800 per tonne and RMB 18,840 per tonne. The spot contract prices may be traded at a premium price of RMB 0 to RMB 40 per tonne.

As per the SMM data, the prices have shown a fall in all the provinces, with the highest in Gongyi, where it has dropped by RMB 120 per tonne to settle at RMB 18,720 per tonne. On the same day, the prices in Wuxi, Hangzhou, and Tianjin dipped by RMB 90 per tonne to peg at RMB 18,820 per tonne. In Foshan, the A00 aluminium ingot price has slipped by RMB 80 per tonne to reach RMB 18,840 per tonne. In Linyi and Shenyang, the domestic aluminium ingot prices have contracted by RMB 60 per tonne and RMB 40 per tonne, to rest at RMB 18,850 per tonne and RMB 18,870 per tonne. In Chongqing, the price has decreased by RMB 10 per tonne, stopping at RMB 18,910 per tonne.

The domestic price of low-carbon aluminium has declined by RMB 80 per tonne, scoring at RMB 19,617 per tonne. As per the SMM data, the high-purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) price have fallen by RMB 100 per tonne to close at RMB 26,300 per tonne and RMB 27,300 per tonne.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has declined by RMB 100 per tonne to arrive at RMB 19,450 per tonne, with average prices between RMB 19,300 per tonne and RMB 19,600 per tonne. On the other hand, the prices of both aluminium alloys (ADC12) and (A380) have remained the same at RMB 20,000 per tonne and RMB 21,000 per tonne. The price of aluminium powder has been decreased by RMB 0.1 per kg to settle at RMB 21.2 per kg, with the average prices between RMB 21.1 per kg and RMB 21.3 per kg.
