Samsung has recently launched a sturdy 4TB solid-state drive (SSD) called T7 Shield, which resembles an ATM card. The outside of the T7 Shield SSD is essentially made of aluminium that can be 100% recycled at the end of its life.

The T7 Shield SSD though not bigger than an ATM card, can throttle a reading capacity of 1,050 MB/s and a writing speed of 1,000 MB/s.
Samsung has incorporated aluminium in the device to make it more robust and adaptable to any given condition. The company claims this SSD is perfect for creative professionals who love travelling.
The Samsung T7 Shield SSD has a storage capacity of about 4TB and a USB 3.2 Gen2 connection. The company has also claimed that the new SSD is almost 9.5 times swifter than the available external hard disks in the market, leading to an increased demand for the product for storing larger data files.
Besides being externally protected by a rigid aluminium case, the SSD is also IP 65 certified, making it dust and water-resistant. The Samsung T7 Shield SSD can withhold shocks up to 3 metres though it weighs only 98 grams. The use of aluminium has substantially reduced the weight of the SSD so that it is easier to carry during business travels when one needs to keep a library of data handy.
The SSD comes with a three-year warranty and can be used in high temperatures like 0° to 60° Celsius because of the embedded AES 256-bit hardware encryption and Samsung Magician Software.
The Samsung T7 Shield SSD can be purchased from the retail market, e-commerce platforms and the company’s own website or outlets. The SSD has been circulated in three primary colours; grey, red and blue.
