The south-eastern European nation, Romania, needs ‘A scrap for windows program’ to support more efficient thermal insulation, surpassing the thermal rehabilitation programs of apartment buildings and hence it would attract fresh investments in this segment.

Daniel Popa, Country Manager for Reynaers Aluminum, Romania, said: "A scrap for windows program is a need in the market for a window scrap program. We have in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and such subsidized programs in this segment to replace the windows with better ones. In Italy, they exceed 50% of the cost, while such a program will have an impact because CO2 emissions are also reduced. We proposed through the employers and the employers' federation a proposal to have a result of a Scrap for windows program.”

Reynaers Aluminum Romania, part of the European leader in the segment of aluminium solutions for the construction sector ended 2020 with a 12% increase in turnover, despite the Covid-19 pandemic. This surge is due to mainly large real estate projects in which Reynaers products are involved locally.
