Luxury luggage maker RIMOWA has expanded the use of its signature grooved aluminium beyond suitcases with the launch of a limited-edition Dartboard Case, reimagining a traditional pub favourite as a high-end design object priced at USD 6,300.
{alcircleadd}Developed in collaboration with professional darts equipment manufacturer Winmau, the new Dartboard Case combines tournament-grade performance with the German brand's signature aluminium craftsmanship, reflecting a growing trend of premium brands using aluminium in products far beyond their traditional categories.
Aluminium takes centre stage
Handcrafted in Cologne, the double-door cabinet is constructed from anodised grooved aluminium, the same material that has become synonymous with RIMOWA's luggage. The case also features custom latch locks, aircraft-inspired engraved rivets and a black leather handle, allowing it to function as both a wall-mounted display piece and a portable storage case.
Rather than relying on decorative elements, the aluminium lies at the heart of the product, showcasing the metal's durability, lightweight properties and a clean, industrial appearance.

Professional darts meet luxury craftsmanship
Inside, the case houses a specially designed Winmau Blade X dartboard finished in a light grey and aluminium-inspired colour scheme. Each door stores a professional-grade set of three darts featuring RIMOWA-branded shafts and signature flights, alongside a leather pouch for spare parts and accessories.
By partnering with Winmau, a long-established supplier to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), RIMOWA has combined luxury design with equipment intended for serious play rather than display alone.
Campaign stars Walton Goggins
To mark the launch, RIMOWA released a campaign film starring actor Walton Goggins, directed by Grégoire Dyer and filmed inside the company's historic Cologne headquarters.
In the short film, Goggins plays a security guard working a quiet Sunday shift who discovers the aluminium dartboard case while anxiously following his favourite football team's match, turning an ordinary factory patrol into a light-hearted game of darts.
Luxury design beyond travel
The Dartboard Case reflects RIMOWA's continued expansion beyond luggage into limited-edition lifestyle products while maintaining its engineering-led approach to design.
As premium brands increasingly explore new applications for aluminium, the launch highlights how the metal is evolving from a material associated with transport and industry into one used to create durable, functional luxury products for modern living.
The RIMOWA Dartboard Case in Silver will be available from July 30, 2026, through selected RIMOWA stores worldwide.
