Production gets resumed at Hindalco’s Muri Alumina plant in Jharkhand

Hindalco Industries Ltd. announced during a filing to the BSE on 23rd December’19 that it has resumed production at Muri alumina plant in Jharkhand. "This is to inform you that Muri refinery in Jharkhand has re-started production of alumina. Operations of the alumina plant of the company situated at Muri, Jharkhand, were suspended due to spillage in the red mud cake storage area. Going forward the company may not need to import alumina”.
The plant commenced the start-up procedure only after receiving the consent letter to operate, from the Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board.
