Saudi Arabia’s aluminium consumption could climb to as much as 1.8 million tonnes a year by 2030, as the Kingdom ramps up infrastructure and industrial development ahead of the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Primary aluminium production in Africa stood at 136,000 tonnes in May 2021, reflecting an increase of 4.62 per cent month-on-month, found the International Aluminium Institute’s latest data. In April, primary aluminium output in Africa was 130,000 tonnes – only 1,000 tonnes less than 131,000 tonnes in the previous month. In the last three months of 2021, Africa produced 397,000 tonnes.
