Saudi Arabia’s aluminium consumption could climb to as much as 1.8 million tonnes a year by 2030, as the Kingdom ramps up infrastructure and industrial development ahead of the 2034 FIFA World Cup. The global aluminium giant, Norsk Hydro has reported that one of the four production lines at its part-owned aluminium smelter in Brazil, Albras was shut down on the morning of 19 th February 2022 due to an internal power distribution failure.
