In recent time, aluminium cans are having an unparalleled safety record and represent one of the most widely used containers for packaging purposes, owing to proficiency in preserving quality and flavour of contents. Several other properties like lightweight, easy handling and cost-effectiveness are also making the cans a popular choice for beverage and aerosol packaging. By 2020, the global metal can demand is projected to reach 431,573.9 million, at a CAGR of 2.9 per cent.

{alcircleadd}To cash in the global rising demand and use of aluminium cans, Poland is expected to raise its aluminium cans export from 38,489 tonnes in 2018 to 43,129 tonnes in 2019, up 12 per cent. However, in 2016 and 2017, the estimated volume of the country’s aluminium cans export was higher at 54,101 tonnes and 60,714 tonnes respectively, as shown in the graph below.

The above data represents that Poland’s aluminium cans exports had a year on year of 12 per cent in 2017. The year next saw a decline; but 2019 is expected to see an increase, although not from 2016 and 2017.
Now, coming to the revenue that Poland is expected to yield this year from aluminium cans export, the graph below indicates a decline. In 2018, Poland’s aluminium cans export revenue was estimated at US$147 million; but in 2019, despite a rise in export volume, the revenue is projected to drop to US$132 million, down 10 per cent. In 2016 and 2017, the country’s export value was at US$145 million and US$151 million, respectively. This shows that until 2018, the country saw a year on year rise in revenue from aluminium cans export.
