Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (PESU)- the state government-owned electricity supplier of Bihar, India, is planning to replace the old loose hanging aluminium wires in many areas across the state with insulated bunched aluminium cables, said senior officials of the firm. The plan is being worked on to address the issue of frequent powercuts in Bihar during winter.
Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (PESU) general manager Dilip Kumar Singh said there was no dearth of power but the electricity supply was cut in certain localities because of the ongoing development work.

"We are replacing the old loose hanging aluminium wires in many areas with insulated bunched cables. Almost 90% of the work has been done and rest will be completed by the year-end," Singh said, adding the development work was going on for more than a year now under accelerated power development and reform programme (APDRP).
