Italian crown cork and cap manufacturer Pelliconi Group has signed a contract with Sacmi to supply a new metal cap production line for its China business. Sacmi, a manufacturer of the aluminium cap liner-making and application machine, will provide the firm with line capable of producing advanced Maxi P-26 pull closure that makes both liner and cap in addition to applying the practical ergonomic-grip pull ring. The production line has an yield rate of 1200 caps per minute.
The modern Maxi p-26 is basically a single-use aluminium cap designed for PET, glass and aluminium bottles. Sacmi's production line features a vertical press that flattens and shapes metal sheets into caps, and a downstream PMV unit that applies the liner. The line also comprises of an RCM machine which moulds and applies the plastic ring with tab adding to the product's usability. The line is also expected to ensure maximum seal pressure while enhancing ergonomics and practicality of the end product.
Pelliconi Group boasts a production capacity of over 30 billion aluminium crown caps per annum.
The new production line supplied by Sacmi will complement Pelliconi’s installed liner application machine purchased from the same supplier earlier.

Pelliconi is a name to reckon with in the bottling and aluminium crown cork and caps industry. Sacmi, on the other hand, is engaged in manufacturing machines and complete plants for the ceramics, packaging, food and automation industries.
