NALCO has increased its aluminium ingot and aluminium products prices in line with the continuous rally in three-month futures of aluminium on the London Metal Exchange. During September 7-10, the LME aluminium benchmark price rose by US$150 per tonne to reach at US$2,895.50 per tonne, fuelled by the tight supply of metal due to production curbs in China and also for the disrupted supply of raw materials because of military coup in Guinea. On a month-on-month calculation, the LME aluminium price is up by US$317.50 per tonne from 2,579 per tonne, and on a year-on-year basis, it is higher by US$1,153 per tonne than US$ 1,743.50 per tonne.
NALCO’s aluminium products and alumina account for nearly two-thirds of the company’s gross topline, while the sales of chemicals contribute to the rest. NALCO manufactures wire rods, billets, coils, and chequered sheets.
