MCX aluminium up by 1.2% on global cues

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery this month moved up by INR 1.25 or 1.24% to INR 101.75 per kg in a business turnover of 554 lots. The metal for delivery in February contracts rose by INR 1.05 or 1.03% to INR 102.50 per kg in a business turnover of 161 lots.
Market participants said besides rising demand at domestic spot markets, a firming trend in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME) helped aluminium futures to trade higher.
