Marine Aluminium to supply Hornbeck with 21-meter helideck for its new conversion project
Marine Aluminium, a company known for developing and producing aluminium goods, has bagged a contract to deliver a helideck for Hornbeck Offshore Services' new conversion project. As previously reported by Offshore Engineer, Hornbeck Offshore plans to convert one of its recently acquired 280-foot offshore supply vessels (OSV) to a service operation vessel (SOV) to meet the growing demand of the offshore wind market in the United States, as well as the demands of the offshore flotel market.
The Marine Aluminium helideck will be delivered as a kit package from Norway for final assembly at the Eastern Shipbuilding Group facility. A Deck Integrated Fire Fighting System (DIFFS), CAP 437 9th ed compatible lighting steps, access ways, and other equipment will be installed on the helideck.
Furthermore, Marine Aluminium will design and provide the helideck's lightweight aluminium support system, which increases vessel stability over a steel framework. The company also offers global customer services, including offshore, maritime, and onshore.
