
Malaysia imported 161,000 tonnes of crude metal and alloys, aluminium semi-finished products (plates, sheets, bars, etc.) and scrap from the US in the first eleven months of 2018, an increase of 109400 or 212% from 51,600 tonnes in the first eleven months of 2017.

{alcircleadd}Total aluminium imports by Malaysia stood at 19,800 tonnes in November 2018, up 10420 tonnes or 111% from 9,380 tonnes in November 2017, according to the latest Mineral Industry Survey report from US Geological Survey. On month on month comparison, total imports increased 18.56% from the October volume of 16,700 tonnes.

Aluminium scraps imports from the US increased from 46,000 tonnes during January-November 2017 to 156,000 tonnes during January-November 2018. This marks a jump of 110000 tonnes or 239.13% year-on-year.
Malaysia imported 19,600 tonnes of aluminium scrap from the US in November 2018, up 11150 tonnes or 131.95% from the November 2017 volume of 8,450 tonnes. On month on month comparison, total imports volume increased 18.79% from the October volume of 16,500 tonnes.
