
Malaysia’s imports of aluminium scrap from the US stood at 41,100 tonnes in March 2021, marking an increase of 68.44% from 24,400 tonnes in March 2020, as updated by the US Census Bureau. The volumes climbed by 11.99% month-on-month basis from 36,700 tonnes in February.
In the first quarter of 2021, Malaysia imported 110,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap, from 73,400 tonnes imported in the first quarter of 2020. That registered an increase of 49.86% or 36,600 tonnes year-on-year.

Imports of total aluminium (semi-finished products, crude metals and alloy and scrap) from the US stood at 41,600 tonnes in March 2021, up by 68.42% from March 2020’s imports of 24,700 tonnes and 12.13% from February 2021’s imports of 37,100 tonnes.
In the first three months of 2021, total imports came in at 111,000 tonnes, from 75,500 tonnes imported in in the first three months of 2020, inched up by 47.02%year-on-year.
