A Maine-based aluminium trailer manufacturer plans to set up a plant in the largest city of South Dakota.
The Governor's Office of Economic Development says the Alcom LLC plant that has been planned to set up in Sioux Falls will initially create 20 jobs and open up about 180 positions in the next 3 years.
Alcom hopes to make aluminium trailers in early April in former 54,000-square-foot Balance Systems Inc. building situated in northern part of the city.
Trapper Clark, the CEO of Alcom says the Maine -based manufacturer has a total of 250 employees in Winslow, Maine, and opened a plant last year in Missoula, Montana that employs 70 people. He says Alcom is expanding its base to its central location South Dakota because of building & workforce availability.
The state will give an amount of $90,000 in workforce development to assist with training costs.
