EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

The local political leaders of the opposition party attended the meeting of workers at the Lohardaga Bauxite Dumping Yard in the Indian state of Jharkhand.  The workers who were working in the dumping yard informed the attended political party under the leadership of Anil Oraon that the bauxite dumping yard is being shifted to Badki Champi.

However, the statement delivered by another non-ruling political party leader, who is presently an MP of the upper house and former MLA of Lohardaga in this regard has also become public. In the name of providing jobs to the people there, cooperation is being sought in setting up a bauxite dumping yard.

While workers said, “The leaders have been assuring us for 15 years in the name of INTUC Union that bauxite dumping yard will not be removed and they will not be made unemployed.”

After meeting in the dumping yard, when this was told by the workers to the leaders, many excuses were made by those leaders. The least seat holding political party in the state is fulfilling its political selfishness by not talking in the interest of poor tribal labourers. The workers further appealed to the opposition MP and the Indian public to come forward in the interest of the workers.

Addressing the labourers, Anil Oraon said, “We want employment for the workers. Bauxite mining is being done by the company for more than 110 years. At the time of taking his mining lease, an agreement has been made to set up an aluminium plant in this area. Instead of working on it, only bauxite dumping yards are being built from place to place. Keeping in view the interest of the workers, the party will force Hindalco to employ the workers. The outline of the movement will be prepared soon after consultation with the party’s district president, local MP and top party leaders. The state’s opposition leaders like Jagnandan Puranic and Rajkumar Verma were present on the occasion.
